1. Give students respect at all times.
2. Listen, listen, and listen.
3. Be approachable and friendly.
4. Make the boundaries clear as crystal.
5. Show empathy.
6. Let students know their opinions are valued.
7. If you say you’re going to do something, make sure you do it and follow up.
8. Make lessons hands on and practical.
9. Make use of all the data you have available for planning lessons. 
10. Make time for extra curricular clubs.
11. Don’t forget to challenge students.
12. Treat all students equally and fairly.
13. They don’t have favourites.
14. Mark classwork and homework on a regular basis.
15. Enjoy being in the classroom.
16. Never give up and raise their aspirations.
17. Organise educational trips.
18. Don’t undermine their intelligence.
19. Don’t make an example of them in front of everyone. 
20. Give them time to answer questions.
21. Use lots of encouragement and praise, praise, praise.
22. Send letters home both positive and areas for improvement.
23. Give them 1-2-3 warnings.
24. Give them a choice, it’s easy to shout but shouting gets you nowhere.
25. Keep their tutors informed.
26. Keep their parents informed.
27. Get to know students on a first name basis.
28. Be visible at playtime and at lunchtime.
29. Say hello and smile.
30. Reward them with prizes they’ll want.
